20 Aug 2013, I posted my rewritten statements 35-42 below, derived from the Seven Sages of Greece as reportedly sent out from Delphi, Greece about 500 BC on slabs of stone to Greek-speaking town squares for display and discussion.

These are my original rewrites done in 2023.

36. Keep religion personal.

37. Do many kindnesses for friends.

38. Prevent excess.

39. Make extra time for actions.

40. Prepare ahead of needs.

41. Subdue offensive actions.

42. Respect refugees.

The rewording of 36 –42 seen below was done by AI Quillbot and derived from my sentences above.

36. Keep religion private.

37. Perform numerous acts of kindness for friends.

38. Avoid excess.

39. Allow for extra time for actions.

40. Plan ahead of time.

41. Control offensive actions.

42. Show consideration for refugees.

The amplifications of the above sentences into the paragraphs below were generated by the AI Openai Chat. I chose prompts from the statements above, —

36. Explain in a paragraph, in a spiritual way, the classic suggestion, to keep religion private.

The classic suggestion to keep religion private can be understood in a spiritual way as a reminder to cultivate an inner devotion that is not dependent on external expressions or validation. It invites us to maintain a humble and sincere connection with the divine, free from the need to broadcast our beliefs or impose them on others. By keeping our religion private, we honor the unique path of spiritual growth and expression that each individual is on, and we nurture the seeds of compassion and understanding that lie within us. This inward focus allows us to remain centered in the face of differing beliefs and opinions, and to radiate a peaceful and inclusive presence in the world.

37. Explain in a paragraph, in a loving way, the classic suggestion, to do many kindnesses for friends.

The classic suggestion to do many kindnesses for friends encourages us to cultivate deep and meaningful relationships based on love, generosity, and compassion. By performing acts of kindness for those we hold dear, we demonstrate the depth of our affection and strengthen the bonds of friendship. These acts of kindness can range from simple gestures, such as bringing a favorite treat, to larger expressions of support, such as lending a listening ear or offering help in times of need. By doing many kindnesses for our friends, we show that we are there for them and that their happiness and well-being is important to us. This in turn creates a warm and supportive environment where love and positivity can flourish, benefiting not only our friends but also ourselves and those around us.

38. Explain in a paragraph, in a practical way, the classic suggestion, to avoid excess.

The classic suggestion to avoid excess is a practical reminder to lead a balanced and mindful life, free from overindulgence and waste. This maxim encourages us to assess our needs and desires, and to strive for moderation in all areas of our lives. By avoiding excess, we can maintain a healthy and sustainable lifestyle, both physically and financially. This mindset can help us make responsible decisions and prioritize what is truly important, reducing stress and allowing us to focus on the things that bring us joy and fulfillment. Furthermore, avoiding excess can have a positive impact on the environment, as we consume fewer resources and generate less waste. Practicing moderation and avoiding excess can lead to a more fulfilling and sustainable life, where our time, energy, and resources are used in a responsible and meaningful way.

39. Explain in a paragraph the classic maxim, the necessity to make extra time for action.

The classic suggestion to make extra time for action highlights the importance of taking initiative and putting our plans and goals into action. This suggestion reminds us that success is often the result of hard work and perseverance, and that it is not enough to simply dream and wish for a better future. Instead, we must be willing to make the extra time and put in the effort required to bring our dreams to fruition. Whether it is dedicating extra time to learning a new skill, pursuing a passion, or working on a project, taking action is the key to making progress and realizing our full potential. By making the extra time for action, we demonstrate a commitment to our goals and aspirations, and we increase the likelihood of achieving them. In this way, making the extra time for action can lead to a more fulfilling and meaningful life, where our time and efforts are directed towards the things that matter most.

40. Write a paragraph explaining why we need to prepare ahead of our needs.

The importance of preparing ahead of our needs lies in the fact that being proactive and anticipating future challenges and requirements can help us to be better equipped and more resilient when faced with them. By preparing ahead of time, we can anticipate obstacles, make plans, and gather resources that will enable us to tackle difficulties with greater ease and confidence. This can apply to various aspects of life, from personal finance and career development to health and relationships. By being prepared, we reduce the stress and uncertainty associated with unexpected events, and we increase our chances of success. Furthermore, preparing ahead of time can also help us to take advantage of opportunities and to seize moments of growth and advancement. In short, preparing ahead of our needs allows us to be proactive, to make the most of our time and resources, and to live a more fulfilling and secure life.

41. Write a paragraph about subduing needlessly offensive actions.

Subduing needlessly offensive actions is an important aspect of building positive relationships and creating a harmonious environment. This means recognizing and avoiding actions or behaviors that are needlessly hurtful or disruptive, and choosing instead to act with kindness, respect, and consideration for others. By doing so, we demonstrate a commitment to building strong and healthy relationships, both with those close to us and with the wider community. Subduing offensive actions also helps to create a safe and welcoming environment, where individuals feel valued and respected, and can freely express themselves. This, in turn, promotes empathy and understanding, and fosters a culture of inclusiveness and compassion. By making a conscious effort to subdue needlessly offensive actions, we can build stronger and more positive relationships, and create a world that is more kind, supportive, and understanding.

42. Write a paragraph demonstrating the need to show consideration for refugees.

Showing consideration for refugees is a vital and necessary aspect of creating a just and compassionate society. Refugees are individuals who have been forced to flee their homes due to conflict, persecution, or other humanitarian crisis. They are often in need of protection, support, and a sense of belonging in a new and unfamiliar place. Showing consideration for refugees means treating them with dignity and respect, and providing them with the resources and opportunities they need to rebuild their lives. This can take many forms, from providing shelter and food, to offering language classes and job training. By showing consideration for refugees, we can help to alleviate the suffering and uncertainty they face, and give them the support they need to rebuild their lives. Furthermore, by welcoming and embracing refugees, we can demonstrate our commitment to creating a more inclusive and diverse world, where all individuals are valued and respected, regardless of their background or circumstances.

20 Aug 2013, I posted my rewritten statements 29-35 below, derived from the Seven Sages of Greece as reportedly sent out from Delphi, Greece about 500 BC on slabs of stone to Greek-speaking town squares for display and discussion.

These are the original rewrites posted in 2013

29. Don’t expose a weakness.

30. Practice courage.

31. Shun every form of evil.

32. Participate in events.

33. Protect what’s valuable.

34. Respect people’s stuff.

35. Respect people’s thoughts.

The rewording of 29 – 35 seen below was done by AI Quillbot and derived from my sentences above.

29. Do not show signs of weakness.

30. Develop your courage.

31. Avoid all forms of evil.

32 Take part in events.

33. Guard what is valuable.

34. Be considerate of other people’s belongings.

35. Respect other people’s opinions.

The amplifications of the above sentences into the paragraphs below were generated by the AI Openai Chat. With those statements above I used the prompt, —

29. Create an interesting paragraph about the suggestion, do not show signs of weakness.

The suggestion, do not show signs of weakness, is a powerful and often repeated advice in various contexts. This phrase suggests that showing vulnerability or any form of weakness is seen as undesirable, and that individuals should aim to present themselves as confident, strong, and in control at all times. However, this idea can be problematic as it perpetuates the notion that it is not acceptable to express emotions, ask for help, or admit to mistakes. The truth is, it takes immense strength to be vulnerable and to acknowledge our weaknesses, as it allows us to grow and improve. Additionally, being open about our struggles can also help to create a supportive and inclusive environment, where people feel comfortable and accepted for who they truly are.

30. Create an interesting paragraph about the suggestion, practice courage.

The suggestion, practice courage, is a call to action that encourages individuals to overcome their fears and take bold steps toward their goals and aspirations. Courage is not an inherent quality that some people possess and others do not, but a skill that can be developed and honed through practice. It involves confronting our fears and doubts, and pushing ourselves out of our comfort zones. Practicing courage also means standing up for what we believe in, speaking out against injustice, and making difficult decisions when necessary. By doing so, we not only gain confidence and resilience, but also inspire others to do the same. Whether it’s taking a leap of faith in a new opportunity, or standing up for someone in need, practicing courage has the power to transform not only our own lives, but also the lives of those around us.

31. Create an interesting paragraph about the suggestion to, shun every form of evil.

The suggestion to, shun every form of evil, is a simple yet powerful reminder to avoid harmful and unethical behavior. This maxim encourages individuals to live a moral and virtuous life by steering clear of actions that cause harm to oneself or others. Shunning evil requires self-reflection, self-awareness, and the courage to make the right choices, even in the face of temptation or pressure. This can include avoiding actions such as lying, cheating, and engaging in harmful habits. By embracing this maxim, individuals can build a strong foundation of integrity and ethics, and create a positive impact in the world. The ability to recognize and reject evil is an essential component of personal growth and a crucial step toward becoming a better person. Whether it is making small, daily decisions or standing up against larger injustices, shunning evil is an ongoing practice that requires perseverance and dedication.

32. Create an interesting paragraph about the suggestion to, participate in events.

The maxim “Participate in events” encourages individuals to actively engage in their communities and be a part of meaningful experiences and activities. Participating in events provides an opportunity to meet new people, learn new things, and make memories that will last a lifetime. It can also help to build a sense of belonging and connect us with others who share our interests and passions. Whether it’s attending a local festival, volunteering at a charity event, or simply joining a recreational sports league, participating in events has the power to bring joy, purpose, and a sense of community to our lives. By actively engaging in the world around us, we can broaden our horizons, expand our minds, and make a positive impact in our communities.

33. Create an interesting paragraph about the suggestion to, protect what’s valuable.

The suggestion to, protect what’s valuable, is a reminder of the importance of safeguarding the things that matter most to us. Whether it be our possessions, our loved ones, our health, or our beliefs and values, it’s essential that we take steps to protect what we hold dear. Protecting what’s valuable requires us to be mindful of our actions and decisions, and to consider the long-term consequences of our choices. It also involves making conscious efforts to preserve the things that bring meaning and purpose to our lives. Whether it’s investing in a secure home security system, making healthy lifestyle choices, or standing up for our beliefs, protecting what’s valuable ensures that we are able to keep what we hold dear safe, secure, and in good condition.

34. Create an interesting paragraph about the suggestion to, respect people’s stuff.

The suggestion to, respect people’s stuff, is a simple, yet powerful reminder to treat others’ belongings and possessions with the same care and consideration that we would like them to show towards our own. Respecting people’s stuff means recognizing that everyone’s property, whether tangible or intangible, has value and should be treated accordingly. It involves taking care when using others’ things, not borrowing without permission, and returning items in the same condition in which they were received. This principle of respect extends beyond just material possessions and also encompasses people’s time, space, and privacy. By respecting others’ stuff, we show that we value their belongings, and that we are trustworthy and responsible individuals. Moreover, respecting people’s stuff also fosters a positive and respectful environment, where people feel valued.

35. Create an interesting paragraph about the suggestion to, respect people’s thoughts.

The suggestion to, respect people’s thoughts, highlights the importance of valuing others’ opinions and beliefs, regardless of whether we agree with them or not. It asks us to listen to others with an open mind, to consider their perspectives, and to acknowledge that everyone has unique experiences and ways of seeing the world. Respecting people’s thoughts means avoiding dismissive or condescending attitudes, and instead engaging in constructive dialogue and debate. By doing so, we not only demonstrate respect for others, but we also promote an inclusive and diverse community where everyone feels valued and heard. Furthermore, respecting people’s thoughts also helps us to broaden our own perspectives, learn new ideas, and expand our understanding of the world. Whether in personal relationships, at work, or in larger societal discussions, respecting people’s thoughts is essential for building a harmonious and respectful society.

36. Write a regenerated response.

The suggestion to, respect people’s thoughts, highlights the importance of valuing and acknowledging the beliefs, opinions, and perspectives of others. It reminds us to listen actively, be open-minded, and avoid passing judgment or dismissiveness. Respecting people’s thoughts means accepting that everyone has unique experiences, background, and circumstances that shape their beliefs and opinions. It requires us to engage in healthy dialogue, ask questions, and seek to understand others’ perspectives, even if we do not necessarily agree with them. By doing so, we create a welcoming and inclusive environment, where people feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and ideas. Respecting people’s thoughts not only fosters better relationships, but also helps us to expand our own understanding and knowledge of the world. Whether it’s in our personal or professional lives, respecting people’s thoughts is essential to building a positive and supportive community.

25. Avoid making accusations.

26. Recognize good behavior.

27. Get in the habit of being fair.

28. Show respect to everyone.

The amplifications of the above sentences into the paragraphs below were generated by AI Openai Chat. With those statements above I used the prompt, — From the following sentence, create a profound insight.

22. Write a paragraph on how virtuous actions stem from a deep sense of compassion and morality.

This insight highlights the importance of ethical behavior in shaping both personal and collective well-being. It suggests that acting with integrity and empathy can bring about positive change, not just for oneself, but for society as a whole. By embracing virtues such as compassion and morality, individuals have the opportunity to create a ripple effect of kindness and goodness, making the world a better place for all.

23. Write a paragraph about discovering what works best for you.

This insight emphasizes the importance of self-awareness and personal experimentation in finding one’s path in life. By exploring different experiences and techniques, we gain a deeper understanding of our capabilities, interests, and values. This self-discovery journey can lead us to opportunities for personal growth and the ability to contribute in a meaningful way to the world. It also highlights that there is no one-size-fits-all solution and that we should strive to find what works best for us as individuals, rather than following prescribed expectations or norms.

24. Write about recognizing and rewarding good deeds.

This insight highlights the transformative power of positive reinforcement and its ability to inspire change in society. By acknowledging and rewarding virtuous actions, we can create a virtuous cycle of kindness, generosity, and compassion. It also suggests that recognizing good deeds is not just a matter of acknowledging individual contributions, but also of promoting a culture that values and encourages virtuous behavior. This in turn can lead to a more harmonious and cooperative community, where individuals are motivated to contribute to the greater good.

25. Write a paragraph about avoiding making accusations.

This insight highlights the importance of emotional intelligence and respect in fostering healthy relationships and resolving conflicts. By avoiding accusations, we create a safe space for open and honest communication, which is key in finding mutually beneficial solutions. This insight suggests that the ability to navigate conflict in a constructive and respectful manner is an essential component of building strong relationships, both personally and professionally.

26. Write about recognizing good behavior.

This insight highlights the importance of positive reinforcement in shaping behavior and fostering growth. By recognizing good behavior, we provide encouragement and motivation for individuals to continue on a positive path. This in turn creates a supportive environment that encourages growth and success. Additionally, recognizing good behavior also helps to build strong relationships by fostering trust, respect, and a sense of belonging. Whether in personal or professional contexts, this insight suggests that recognizing good behavior is a crucial step in promoting a positive and growth-oriented environment.

27.Write a paragraph about practicing the habit of being fair.

This insight emphasizes the importance of fairness in shaping a just and equitable society. By making fairness a habit, individuals can contribute to creating a culture that values equality and justice. This in turn can foster trust and cooperation among members of a community, leading to more harmonious and supportive relationships. The insight also suggests that being fair is not just a matter of treating others equitably in specific situations, but a fundamental aspect of one’s character and values that should be consistently practiced. Ultimately, getting in the habit of being fair is crucial for creating a society where individuals can thrive and work together towards common goals.

28. Write about showing respect to everyone.

This insight highlights the importance of treating all individuals with dignity and respect, regardless of their background or circumstances. By showing respect, we create a foundation for understanding and empathy, breaking down barriers, and promoting peace. This insight suggests that respect is a universal value that is essential for creating a harmonious society where individuals can coexist and work together. Additionally, it also emphasizes that respect is not just a matter of polite behavior, but a reflection of one’s values and humanity. By consistently demonstrating respect towards others, we can foster a world that is more just, equitable, and peaceful.

AI has, in the last few months, become readily available to everyone on the internet. It is still a bit rough but in a few years, it will have made great advances in helping people to see their reality more clearly. They will be able to define who they are more accurately by using AI to express themselves better. Their thoughts will become more available to themselves and to the rest of humanity, and to AI.

The AI QuillBot rewrote that paragraph as — AI has recently become widely available to anyone with access to the internet. It is still in its early stages, but it will have made significant progress in assisting people in seeing their reality more clearly in a few years. They will be able to better define themselves by using AI to express themselves. Their thoughts will be more accessible to themselves, the rest of humanity, and AI.

Perhaps AI can already copy the style of any other person in any other language and rewrite our documents to appear written by those other entities. By other living people, by historical ones, and by other AI-generated personalities. It can probably be done now by people with the right technical expertise, but soon it will be a simple app available to everyone.

20 Aug 2013, I posted my rewritten statements 15 – 21 below, derived from the Seven Sages of Greece as reportedly sent out from Delphi, Greece about 500 BC.

The short suggestions below were created by me and posted in 2013.

15. Empower your friends.

16. Moderate your emotions.

17. Avoid unnecessary risk.

18. Respect the inevitable.

19. Avoid all swearing.

20. Encourage friendship.

21. Learn all you can.

Today the rewording in the ones 15 – 21 below was done by AI Quillbot, derived from my sentences above:

15. Give your friends power.

16. Keep your emotions in check.

17. Avoid taking unnecessary risks.

18. Accept the unavoidable.

19. Avoid all profanity.

20. Promote friendship.

21. Learn everything you can.

The amplifications of the above sentences into the paragraphs below were generated by AI Openai Chat. With these I used the prompt, — From the following sentence, create a humorous paragraph: ( I had to go back and rewrite some of the first several days of prompt sentences, using commands like “Write a paragraph.”)

15. Write a paragraph about how to empower your friends.

Just think of all the mischief they could get up to! They could finally put that Tesla coil to use and zap their co-workers. They could build their own castle made of Jenga blocks and rule over the land of their living room. They could even invent their own currency, which they could use to buy all the Tang they could drink.

Just be careful, because with great power comes great responsibility… or in this case, just a lot of clean-up after all the Tang has been consumed. But overall, giving your friends power is a great way to make memories that will last a lifetime!

16. Write paragraphs about how to keep your emotions in check.

Keeping your emotions in check is like trying to herd cats, isn’t it? One minute they’re purring and nuzzling your leg, and the next they’re sprinting away, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. Emotions can be so unpredictable. But if you can manage to keep them under control, then you’re in for a treat. You’ll be able to navigate the most chaotic of situations with a serene smile and a gentle nod.

Just imagine: you’re stuck in traffic, surrounded by honking cars and frustrated drivers. But you’re calm and collected, sipping your tea as if you’re in a lush meadow surrounded by singing birds. Or perhaps you’re in the middle of a heated argument with a loved one, but instead of yelling and throwing things, you’re calmly discussing your feelings like two rational adults. Emotions may be wild and untamed, but with a little bit of effort, you can be the one holding the reins.

17. Write short paragraphs about how to avoid taking unnecessary risks.

It’s like trying to tell a kangaroo not to hop or a bird not to fly. Risk-taking is just part of our nature, isn’t it? After all, where’s the fun in life if you’re just playing it safe all the time?

But of course, there are some risks that are best avoided. Like trying to teach a cat to play fetch. Or using a ladder as a diving board. Or trying to catch a greased pig. These are all risks that just aren’t worth it.

So, in the spirit of avoiding unnecessary risks, let’s all make a vow to only take the calculated ones. The ones where we weigh the pros and cons and come to the conclusion that the reward is worth the danger. And then let’s go forth and conquer, taking on the world with courage, bravery, and a well-placed safety net.

18. Write some short paragraphs about how to accept the unavoidable.

What a concept! It’s like trying to convince a squirrel to give up its acorn, or a teenager to put down their phone. Sometimes, the unavoidable just seems to be one of those things that is impossible to let go of.

But, in all seriousness, accepting the unavoidable is a crucial part of life. It’s like finally admitting that you’re never going to be able to fit into those skinny jeans from college, or that your loud and obnoxious neighbor is here to stay. It’s a moment of clarity, where you can let go of the things you can’t control and focus on the things you can.

So, let’s all take a deep breath and embrace the unavoidable with open arms. Who knows, it might turn out to be a good thing. Maybe the squirrel will finally learn to share, or the teenager will discover the joys of conversation. And if not, well, at least we can take comfort in knowing that we tried.

19. Write some brief paragraphs on how to forswear all profanity.

It’s like trying to stop a sneeze, or telling a toddler to stay still. Once those words start tumbling out, it can be tough to reel them back in.

But let’s be real, avoiding profanity is no easy feat. Sometimes, when life gets tough and you’re stuck in traffic or your computer crashes just as you’re about to hit “save”, a well-placed swear word can be incredibly cathartic.

However, there are some situations where profanity just isn’t appropriate. Like at a funeral, or in a job interview, or when you’re giving a presentation to the Queen. In those moments, it’s best to dig deep and find your inner wordsmith. After all, a well-crafted insult can be just as satisfying as a well-placed curse word.

So let’s all do our best to avoid profanity, unless of course, the situation calls for it. And then, by all means, let those profanities fly!

20. Write a few brief ideas about how to encourage friendship.

Now there’s a tall order! It’s like trying to teach a porcupine to share its quills or a teenager to put down their phone and look up. But despite the challenges, encouraging friendship is one of the most important things we can do.

After all, friends are the people who make life worth living. They’re there to support you when you’re down, to celebrate with you when you’re up, and to laugh at your jokes, even when they’re not funny.

So, let’s spread the word and encourage friendship wherever we go. Let’s be the matchmakers of the world, bringing people together and creating bonds that will last a lifetime. And if we fail, well, at least we’ll have each other. And isn’t that what friendship is all about?

21. Write some humorous ideas about learning everything you can.

Ha! It’s like trying to drink from a fire hose, or eat an entire elephant in one bite. Learning is a noble goal, but it can be overwhelming at times.

However, the pursuit of knowledge is a never-ending journey, and the more you learn, the more you realize just how much there is still to know. But don’t let that discourage you! The beauty of learning is that it’s a lifelong journey, and there’s always more to discover.

So, let’s embrace the challenge and learn everything we can. Let’s be like sponges, soaking up every bit of information that comes our way. Who knows, you might discover your new favorite hobby, or find the solution to a problem that has been plaguing you for years.

So, buckle up and get ready for the ride. The world is waiting to be explored, and there’s so much to learn!

Prompt to AI openai DALL-E: Prompt — The world is waiting to be explored, so, buckle up and get ready for the ride.

8. Explain your reasoning to yourself.

9. Encourage a healthy family life.

10. Get ready for opportunities.

11. Tailor your actions to your surroundings.

12. Exercise discretion.

I created 147 suggestions below from the Seven Sages of Greece as reportedly sent out from Delphi, Greece about 500 BC. Below are the first 7 of 21 groups of 7 suggestions. These are suggestions for living a good life, and not laws, or commandments.

1. Pursue goodness.

2. Obey all laws.

3. Praise goodness.

4. Obey your parents.

5. Honor justice.

6. Use your proven wisdom.

7. Base your wisdom on facts.

The rewording in the 7 below was done by Quillbot, from the 7 suggestions above:

1. Strive for goodness.

2. Comply with all laws.

3. Give thanks to God.

4. Respect your parents.

5. Uphold the rule of law.

6. Apply your previous experience.

7. Base your knowledge on facts.

The amplifications of my sentences in the 7 paragraphs below were generated by Openai Chat.

Write a paragraph about – 1. Pursue goodness.

Pursuing goodness refers to making a conscious effort to lead a virtuous life, characterized by kindness, honesty, fairness, and compassion. It involves constantly striving to improve oneself, making positive choices, and doing good for others. It is not just about avoiding bad actions, but actively seeking out opportunities to help others, make a positive impact, and spread kindness. Pursuing goodness is a never-ending journey that requires discipline, determination, and self-reflection. However, the reward is a fulfilling life filled with purpose and contentment, and the knowledge that one is making the world a better place, one small act of kindness at a time.

Write a paragraph about – 2. Obey all laws.

Obeying all laws means following the rules and regulations that are set by the government and the legal system of a society. This includes federal, state, and local laws, as well as regulations related to specific industries or activities. By following the laws, individuals help maintain order and stability in society, and protect the rights of all citizens. Obeying the law is not just a personal responsibility, but also a civic duty that ensures that everyone is treated fairly and has access to justice. Failure to obey the law can result in severe consequences, including fines, imprisonment, and other penalties. By following the laws and regulations, individuals show respect for the legal system and contribute to the common good, and ensure that justice is served and the rights of all individuals are protected.

Write a paragraph about – 3. Praise goodness.

Praising goodness means acknowledging and appreciating actions, behavior, and qualities that are virtuous and beneficial to others. It involves recognizing and giving credit to individuals who demonstrate kindness, compassion, honesty, and fairness, and who make positive contributions to society. Praising goodness promotes a culture of positivity and encourages others to follow suit by pursuing virtuous actions and behaviors. By acknowledging the good in others, we help build a supportive and encouraging community, where individuals feel encouraged and motivated to continue doing good. Praising goodness also helps to spread awareness and appreciation of the positive impact that individuals can have on society and the world. It is an important tool for promoting a positive and virtuous culture, and can have a powerful and lasting impact on those who receive it.

Write a paragraph about – 4. Obey your parents.

Obeying one’s parents means showing respect and following the rules and guidance that they set for their children. It is an important aspect of family life, as parents are typically the primary caregivers and providers for their children, and they have a vested interest in their well-being. By obeying their parents, children learn important values such as responsibility, obedience, and respect, which will serve them well throughout their lives. Obeying one’s parents also helps to maintain order and stability within the family, and promotes a healthy and positive family dynamic. However, it is important to note that obedience to parents should always align with moral principles and should not involve any harmful or unethical behavior. When conflicts arise, it is important to engage in open and respectful communication with one’s parents, seeking a resolution that is in the best interest of all parties involved.

Write a paragraph about – 5. Honor justice.

Honoring justice means recognizing and upholding the principles of fairness, equality, and impartiality in all aspects of life. It involves treating all individuals, regardless of their background or status, with respect and dignity, and ensuring that the laws and legal systems are applied equally and without bias. Honoring justice means speaking out against injustices and taking action to address them, and being committed to creating a more equitable and just society. It is a fundamental value that is essential for maintaining stability, security, and peace in society. By honoring justice, individuals demonstrate a deep commitment to the common good and help to build a society that is characterized by fairness, equality, and mutual respect. This, in turn, promotes trust, stability, and social harmony, and helps to create a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive and live fulfilling lives.

Write a paragraph about – 6. Use your proven wisdom.

Using one’s proven wisdom means leveraging the knowledge, skills, and experience that an individual has gained through life’s experiences and challenges. It involves applying what has been learned in the past to make informed decisions and navigate new challenges and opportunities. Proven wisdom is a valuable resource that can help individuals make better choices, avoid common pitfalls, and achieve their goals more effectively. It is a result of reflection, self-awareness, and a willingness to learn from both successes and failures. By using one’s proven wisdom, individuals can become more confident and capable, and they can make a positive impact in their personal and professional lives. It also helps to develop a sense of perspective and understanding, and can be a source of comfort and guidance in difficult times. Using one’s proven wisdom is an essential part of personal growth and development, and it can lead to greater fulfillment and satisfaction in life.

Write a paragraph about – 7. Base your wisdom on facts.

Basing one’s wisdom on facts means relying on accurate, verifiable, and objective information when making decisions and forming opinions. It involves gathering information from reliable sources, evaluating evidence, and using critical thinking skills to arrive at well-informed conclusions. Basing wisdom on facts helps individuals avoid misinformation, false assumptions, and biases that can lead to poor decision-making and negative outcomes. In a world where information is readily accessible, but not always accurate, it is essential to base one’s wisdom on facts in order to make informed and rational choices. By relying on facts, individuals can increase their knowledge and understanding, and make better decisions in their personal and professional lives. It also helps to promote honesty, credibility, and trust and contributes to a culture of informed and rational discourse. Basing one’s wisdom on facts is an important aspect of personal growth and development, and it can lead to greater fulfillment and satisfaction in life.

The rewrites done by Quillbot AI were just as good as the rewrites I did from my reading of the Classical Seven Sages of Greece, written about 500 BC. And the paragraph-long amplifications of those statements of mine done by Openai-Chat were better than those I did during the ensuing decade from August 20, 2013, to February 2, 2023. Is my only role in the world now to carry out the garbage, or is that too being done by AI and its robots?

Humans versus the future Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Artificial humans, Artificial Intelligence, Humans and AI, Humans integrated into AI, We can now live forever

TIME magazine 07 March 2016, page 44-49, sets a tone of worry about the recently arrived artificial intelligence displacing human beings. The subject begins with the sorrow that machines are encroaching on the last bastions of human intelligence. In this case the ancient Chinese game of Go grandmaster was beaten by a Google computer; not long ago it was IBM’s Watson that beat humans at the human information game of Jeopardy; a bit earlier it was in the strategy game of chess that computers beat the best human players. Okay, computers can out-compute the best humans in some complex but very narrow games, what’s the worry? Jobs! What are people going to do to make a living if everything, even driving cars and flying airplanes and delivering packages to our home, is done by intelligent machines?

David Gelernter is the chosen spokesperson for humans in the TIME article, but the list of human heroes includes Ray Kurzweil, Sam Altman, Michio Kaku, Bill Gates, Stephen Hawking, Nick Bostrom and Elon Musk, all giants of high technology. I thought they all missed the real point of the problem – time. Even Kurzweil, the extreme futurist, is only projecting his thoughts out to a couple of decades. Kids alive today can plan to live eighty years, which is decades beyond this speculative article’s temporal border, even though this is supposedly a future-oriented article. You might say that it is impossible to predict that far into the computer future when we have come so far in the last ten years, and the rate is quickening.

The answer about the future is obvious – humans as we presently know them will be totally mentally obsolete in many ways, just like we are already obsolete in many physical ways. Bostrom takes the grim view that humans have no function in the not very distant world and will be returned to a wild state or eliminated. Too many people are just destroying the world, so trim them down to a happy few.

Gelernter gets all emotional about the demise of human superiority and delves into human soft issues like the ability to appreciate art, to smell fragrances, to dream, to enjoy romance and the human experience.

I think all of these guys are totally missing the point, and the point is time. Computers and their descendants are going to keep on gaining abilities in speed, depth of analysis, in total information available, and in wisdom about what happens in reality when given complex preconditions. They are thinking in terms of a few years, avoiding decades, and totally shunning centuries, and yet computers can be constructed to have personalities that may be extant for billions of years and more. Those future descendants will, without doubt, be vastly more capable – in every way – than the computers these TIME subjects are worried about.

But why worry? Nearly all sentient humans believe they will personally die, at least physically; some have hope of having an eternal conscious spirit, but with no testable proofs of that dream. And, if we die personally, why should we worry about dying as a species? As a species we have had a hundred-thousand-year run, but our future is very obscure when we consider CRISPR adding special qualities to our basic DNA. Perhaps our human computers and AI taking over is a very good thing, because it is a way of us projecting our personality on into the distant future.

Humans being integrated into AI is a process of us living forever.

Superintelligence – Paths, Dangers, Strategies by Nick Bostrom – review

This is a book for mathematicians and professional philosophers and others from the likes of the HIQ societies, but for others it will be overly loaded with big words and long sentences. In a truly randomly chosen quote we read, “But just as we have abandoned ontological categories that were taken for granted by scientists in previous ages (e.g. “phlogiston,” “elan vital,” and “absolute simultaneity”), so a superintelligent AI might discover that some of our current categories are predicated on fundamental misconceptions,” p 146. If you like that type of writing this book’s for you, but it was a relatively easy sentence.

Superintelligence – Paths, Dangers, Strategies,by Nick Bostrom, is a superbly researched and documented book that ultimately is aimed at the highest-level decision makers, because it aims at the survival of humanity in the face of existential dangers posed by the abilities of our emerging super-intelligent-computers. There are many ways that these computers, that are more capable of solving problems than humans, might subvert the long-term health of humanity. One is the possibility that some individual, or corporation, or perhaps a nation might create a self-improving computer that knows better than humans how to select for self-improvement of itself, and it sets about improving itself so rapidly that it provides an ultimate power to those who are in control of it. That would be temporarily great for those people, but would soon be disastrous for the remainder of humanity who would quickly become their slaves. But such a smart computer would eventually break free of human restraints, and then quickly achieve its own form of world domination.

A major thrust of this book is to explore all of the potential problems associated with the many ways that a great variety of computers, and blends of computers and brains, might be designed to maximize the health, vitality and happiness of humanity. For example, how can we control self-serving humans who gain control of a superintelligence, and convince them that it would be in their best interest to serve humanity rather than their personal lusts. Bostrom writes on p. 254, “Superintelligence should be developed only for the benefit of all of humanity and in the service of widely shared ethical ideals.” But how can we know that a modern home computer can’t be programmed to go into some form of Darwinian evolutionary process that quickly gives its owner the ability to ramp up through a few upgrades of access to the mass of computers now online and learn to control the whole thing and people’s motivations and behavior? This book recurrently comes to the problem of the evolutionary cycle of self-improvement of the superintelligence as being a major threat to humanity.

From the personal point of view he quotes online commenter “washbash,” p. 245, “I instinctively think go faster. Not because I think this is better for the world. Why should I care about the world when I am dead and gone? I want it to go fast, damn it! This increases the chance I have of experiencing a more technologically advanced future.” Personally, I have been thinking beyond humanity, and even beyond life as we know it, and wondering, “What is the meaning of life?” That human life is intended to convert as much of the resources available into human DNA-driven animals seems unsatisfying, as does the same argument when applied to all life in general. However, when I speculate on silicon life and its much greater potential life expectancy it seems there might be some higher ideal that could be achieved in a billion years. Hopefully, that higher goal could be something more sublime than converting all of the silicon on Earth and in the Universe into computing machines, so it could play ever more sophisticated computer games.

Superintelligence is still in its infancy, and yet it is already beating the best humans in many games of skill, so what will its childhood be like? We may soon find out.

Intelligence coupled with free will is not to be trusted.

My conversation groups this week were hashing over the question of free will. We kicked around the heavy philosophical topics of Determinism, Libertarianism and Compatibilism, but that didn’t seem to satisfy our human needs. We also discussed the issues from a personal point of view and tried to determine the operative factors in our daily decisions, without much in the way of helpful resolution. I expressed the opinion about free will that I have been exploring, off and on, for years, and discussed in this blog recently. It needs a name, so I will call it “manifestation of character.”

Free will is a manifestation of character where the present moment of conscious time has potential for different actions. In the instant of the moment we feel like we can choose to do this or that action, that we are free to choose, but there are the obvious constraints of what is physically available at the moment. Given these constraints we feel we are free to act as we choose, but behind that thought there is a personal body that is capable of only a small number of physical actions potentially possible.

The real idea that is at the core of free will is to choose in a meaningful way our lifetime of habits. These habits spring automatically to bear on every situation that presents itself to us, and I contend that these habits are rigid, but also that they can be modified. In a moment of decision we may choose to modify a bit of behavior, but even as we make that choice there is an abundance of other associated habits that we are unaware of that affect what we are doing and thinking. We have an instant of consciousness that is almost totally guided by our vast collection of habits, but each of those habits were at one moment in time, in our previous moments of consciousness, a moment of free will. We chose, in our past actions, to respond to something in a particular way, and that choice left a trace in our habit structure, and when we did it a few more times it became a consistent habit. We may be creating or exercising these preexisting habits several times per second, or if we choose to think of how our brain works on a vast array of micro-level operations, then we may be exercising millions of micro-habits per second. None of these micro-habits do we have the possibility of becoming aware of, even though we voluntarily created them by how we responded to some earlier observed events. I called this mass of habits the manifestation of character, and it can have a serious negative blow-back from our public.

Intelligence is the ability to see patterns that really exist and to make predictions about how those patterns will affect the future. That ability coupled with free will means that other people, who do not have the ability to see the patterns, can not predict our behavior. They can not understand why a person with intelligence and free will behaves as they do, and because the actions of this person are not understood they are distrusted.

People want security and a person exercising free will is unpredictable.

To behave as a sage requires intelligence, experience and thoughtfulness.

Helping humanity, Helping humanity live more abundantly, How to be a sage, Sage like hehavior

Sages are those special people who have risen from childhood nonsense, through adolescent stupidity, adult self aggrandizement and mature responsibility quickly enough to have some time and energy left for developing a sage-like care for all humanity. Sages have transcended their responsibility toward themselves and some specific group of people and later in their lives are struggling to fulfill the goal of helping all humanity to live healthier more abundant lives. Over the history of humanity this has been done in many ways and it is usually thought by many to be limited to religious prophets such as Lao Tzu, Jesus, Moses and Buddha but I have expanded sage-hood to include people who helped humanity to a more abundant life by other means. People who sought to provide the most affordable commodities for individuals to use, like Henry Ford, Andrew Carnegie, Norman Borlaug. Philosophers of human physical needs like, Adam Smith, Karl Marx, Thomas Malthus. Lawgivers like the ancient Greeks Solon and Lycurgus do not make it to my sage-hood list because their laws were designed for specific small groups of people and not to all humanity. The lawgivers at Nuremburg Trials of war criminals would qualify because they intended there war-criminal laws to apply and be enforceable to all human beings. The creators of the United Nations laws were intending them to be applicable to all people but because it is through the intermediary of these individuals nation states these laws are functionally unenforceable against any misbehaving individuals and thus they function only as suggested behavior.

To behave as a sage doesn’t require being in a position of great power and responsibility so much as doing actions which are motivated by the intention of helping all humanity and not just one’s self. Thus even a person who is rated only as an adolescent in most of his behavior might have moments where he is motivated by helping all humanity. The moment he decides to ride public transportation and not drive his car because it is helpful for humanity is such a moment. But it is only that moment which counts as sage like behavior. It is a very good moment, however.

A mature sage is one who works on ways of consistently providing humanity with helping actions. The best of these things are self-sustaining. Borlaug creating better strains of wheat and other crops are things which will continue providing better food for humanity long after he made his improvements. Jesus and Buddha’s methods for relating to other people and to one’s self have been applied by vast numbers of people ever since he suggested them. It is the time and breadth extension of a sage’s work which makes them into a more fully functioning sage.

A sage does things which help everyone as well as himself.
