The CDC reports that nearly all US states are having “Widespread Influenza”:

Last week our local hospital here in Bend, Oregon, was not having elective surgery because all beds were being occupied with flu victims. This seems strange to me because of over two hundred people at the UU church this morning I never heard a single cough, and downtown I never saw a single person who appeared to be sick. From casual observation, it would appear that the flu season had ended here in Oregon, and yet the CDC shows a very different picture. (ILI means “Influenza-Like Illness.”):

According to the CDC, the 1918 pandemic killed fifty million people, but this one hasn’t gotten much media coverage.

The weather has been in the 40s and according to one flu researcher 43° F is the ideal transmission temperature.
