Always be doing something productive even if it seems trivial, and cultivate the habit of catching yourself being unproductive. The goal doesn’t have to be doing something grandiose, but the activity should be accomplishing something significant. It may sound callous, but the measure of money at least implies that the activity performed has potential value to at least one other person in the world. Even writing a blog is productive if some other person reads it; that is proof that it had some value. If your activity is just washing the dishes after dinner it is something that can be rewarded with money, and if you are alone you have done something for yourself that you could pay yourself for doing. The goal with this idea is to stay involved in the existence you find yourself immersed within.
