Debbie Foster wins a first Prize from The New Yorker
My true love, housemate and editor, Debbie Foster of Bend, Oregon, just won The New Yorker magazine First Prize in their weekly contest for identifying book covers. I have known for a long time that she has an astonishing ability to discover obscure facts. When in conversations with people I depend upon her being at my side to answer questions accurately about references to things on the periphery of my memory. When at home she does the same thing by finding almost instantly things which I struggle to discover. It pleases me greatly that this tiny thing for The New Yorker rewards her in a very public way for her well honed abilities.
