When on our evening walk Debbie and I noticed our Moon was caught in a neighbor’s tree. It seem appropriate that the branches should have captured it and also appropriate that the branch should be broken. We chuckled about writing a haiku to that juxtaposition of symbols. I have never written a haiku but after yesterday’s over-exuberance of blogging it seems appropriate to be very brief and just show this picture. Today is a respite from words.

The Moon as seen through broken tree branches. The Moon as seen through broken tree branches.

An evening sky with a full moon rising as seen through winter branches which are not only leafless but broken too. The last rays of the sun are lighting the broken portion while the rest is already in shadow.

The Moon caught in a broken tree is a haiku of broken delicacy.
