The worst thing about a colonoscopy examination is drinking the awful gut cleansing laxative beverage the night before the big event. I posted a review of this a couple of years ago and have thought some more about it since then. At my new site there are new and useful suggestions which are sure to please all of those billions of future victims of that foul tasteless fluid.

Why is it necessary to make this stuff taste so horrible?
With all the advances of modern science over the past 100 years… no company in the WORLD can make a simple laxitive that tastes good? (Or, at least… tastes a little LESS horrible?)
Why not?
I dunno! I am doing the laxative for colonscopy thing tonight and just went out on the net looking for people who could empathize! I wonder the same thing. Why the HELL can’t the stuff be made at least remotely palatable? Or put into a flavorless coating to be swallowed (and followed by oceans of water)?
My dr. actually had me dissolve Miralax (tastless and grit free) in 84 oz of gatorade. I just mixed it up for my 6pm start…so we will see. I don’t mind the taste of Gatorade though, so maybe it won’t be too bad. I also had to take two Ducolax last night, and 2 more tonight. But that is it.

My previous doctor used citrate of magnesia. The brand I got was lemon flavored and did not taste all that horrible when icy cold. The new doctor told me to take a whole jar of Miralax. That is grit-free and tasteless so you can mix it with Snapple or whatever. The only catch was that it turned out that I was really allergic to it and in about 3 minutes I had to be rushed to the emergency room.
